Atlas and our parent company Tarkett Sports, adheres to the strongest environmental standards in the industry while maintaining unmatched quality and durability.
As part of The Tarkett Group, we play our part in helping to keep over 60,000 tons of material out of landfills each year. Sustainability isn’t something new at Tarkett. We started recycling surfaces 50 years ago, before most companies were even giving it a thought.
Remaining committed to sustainability, we’re constantly on the lookout for better raw materials, ways to use less energy and resources, and new ways to reclaim and recycle our used sports surfaces. Our goal is to build better surfaces. Sports surfacing that enables our customers to balance the impact on the earth, their people, and their budgets. Those are the surfaces of the future. Sustainable surfaces that help us all live in balance.

Nike Grind Reuse-A-Shoe Program
The Nike Grind program is a unique combination of recycling, innovation, sports and community giving-back. In 2000, NIKE and Atlas partnered to form a strategic alliance which produces high quality, cost-effective and environmentally responsible synthetic running tracks.
Atlas’ strategic alliance fulfills mutual commitments to the environment and continues Atlas' use of post-consumer products. Working together, NIKE and Atlas have a positive effect on the environment by diverting waste that may otherwise be place into a landfill. Reuse-A-Shoe is a recycling program for the collection and processing of worn-out athletic shoes (of any brand) and shoes that are returned from retailers due to a material or workmanship flaw. The worn-out athletic shoes are processed into a raw material known as Nike Grind. Through this partnership, Nike supplies Atlas with Nike Grind. Atlas then incorporates Nike Grind into the innovative Atlas all-weather track surfaces.
Nike Grind partners contribute to Let Me Play, Nike’s global movement to empower young people through sport.
