American Sports Builders Association (ASBA) honors Pacific University's new Thomas Holce Tennis Courts with the Distinguished Facility Award. The Holce Courts have been recognized as one of the top outdoor tennis facilities in the United States, by one of the nation's leading athletic facility builder organizations, ASBA.
Partners identified with this award include Atlas Track and Tennis, Lease Crutcher Lewis and Phil Excavating.
"The tennis facility at Pacific University is amongst the best clubs in the Pacific Northwest" said Bob Lundgren, Vice President of Tennis, with Atlas Track and Tennis. Atlas worked on the 6-court design; including three roofed courts and three open courts. Lundgren said, "the smart court design will increase playability and usage." Phil Excavating prepared the ground and paved the asphalt pad, and Lease Crutcher Lewis Builds constructed the building over three of the courts. Atlas provided fencing, lighting, surfacing, equipment, and windscreens to complete the project.
The American Sports Builders Association (ASBA), the national organization for builders, designers, and suppliers of materials for athletic facilities, has announced the winners of its annual awards. Awards are presented each year to facilities built by ASBA members, which best exemplify construction excellence.
Presentation of awards was made at the ASBA Technical Meeting held recently in Savannah, GA. A panel of ASBA members judged entries anonymously. Individual facilities were scored categorically based on: layout and design, site work, drainage, base construction, surface, amenities, innovation and overall impression. Winning entries had cumulative scores which either met or exceeded the panel standards.
